Here at Local Table Tours, food is, well, our favorite. Especially local food. That’s why we were beyond excited to participate in this years Big Eat event, hosted by EatDenver.
What is the Big Eat?
The Big Eat is a “celebration of the local restaurant scene,” where over 50 locally owned Denver restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries come together to showcase their specialties. EatDenver, Denver’s independent restaurant network, hosted the event to further their mission of supporting and promoting the value of locally-owned independent restaurants in Denver.
This years event was held under the canopy of the Galleria at the Denver Performing Arts complex, with tables spread throughout the outdoor complex, allowing people to explore, mingle, taste, and sip their way around.
Snapshots of What We Tasted at The Big Eat
Making our way through the tables and tables of food, we had the opportunity to taste some amazing food and drinks. We have included a few snapshots below of some of the many dishes we consumed!

Curried chickpeas over house-made chips with tripel ale from Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery.

Pork belly and potato torte in a wine broth with bacon caramel (made from bacon fat, rather than butter!) and chevril from Cap City Tavern.

Trout Rillete from The Way Back Denver. In the mix: a house-made butter cracker, trout roe, radish, chive, and spring onion.

Rosenburg’s Bagels serving up classic bagels with cream cheese, and spicy lox topped with caviar.

Taco sushi (yes, sushi inside a taco shell atop a guacamole!) from Los Chingones.

Aloy Thai’s beautiful set up! We tasted the Lemongrass Chicken and the Shrimp Lollipops.

The ‘bar bus’ serving Bimbimbap bites in mini takeout containers from Ace Eat Serve! In the mix was braised short rib, rice, kimchi, scallion and egg.
And last but not least, some of the Local Table Tours team (minus our founder, Megan Bucholz) at our table!
The Local Table Tours team left full of delicious food and great memories. Thank you to everyone who came out to our table!
